The North Cape at a glance
The North Cape (Nordkapp) is a plateau with steep cliffs above the sea. The Globe monument stands beside the North Cape Hall, the visitor center that charges an entrance fee. The hall ticket and the open-air area around it are separate matters, and so is parking.
This guide covers the ticket, the opening hours, parking, winter access and the midnight sun. It is an independent site, not run by the hall, the municipality, a shipping line or a tour company. Prices below are the list the hall published in October 2026. The price page itself carries no year.

Tickets for the hall
Prices from the English price list of the North Cape Hall, October 2026.
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult | NOK 360 |
| Child, 6 to 16 years | NOK 100 |
| Family, 2 adults and 2 children | NOK 820 |
| Student or military | NOK 200 |
The Norwegian version of the price list names NATO military explicitly. A ticket is valid for 6 hours from the first scan and allows repeated entry. There are no separate tickets just for the shop or cafeteria. You can buy at the entrance, and online sales are offered. For children under 6, ask at the counter.

Opening hours
The hall is open daily, and getting there depends on the weather. The English and the Norwegian pages of the operator give slightly different seasons, and neither is more authoritative, so both are listed. Plan with the shorter hours and confirm before a winter or shoulder-season trip.
| Period | English page | Norwegian page |
|---|---|---|
| Winter and spring | 1 Jan to 17 May: 10–16 | 1 Jan to 18 May: 10–15 |
| Midnight sun season | 18 May to 17 Aug: 10–01 | 19 May to 18 Aug: 10–01 |
| Late August | 18 to 31 Aug: 10–23 | 19 to 31 Aug: 10–23 |
| Early September | 1 to 13 Sep: 10–20 | 1 to 14 Sep: 10–20 |
| Late September | 14 to 30 Sep: 10–17 | 15 to 30 Sep: 10–17 |
| Autumn and winter | 1 Oct to 31 Dec: 10–16 | October to December: 10–16 |
The restaurant is open from 1 June to 31 August, and the coffee house all year. Evening visits outside the winter hours may need advance notice.
Parking and the last stretch
The operator describes parking as free from 07:00 to 01:00 and not allowed overnight. The maximum stay is 6 hours on the parking page and 5 hours in the FAQ, so plan for 5. Do not drive up to the globe with a vehicle. The hall ticket price is not a parking fee.
Weather decides how pleasant the plateau is at any time of year, so keep a warm layer in the car.

Winter access: the E69 convoy
In winter the road to the cape is driven in convoys. The latest published plan is for the winter of 2025/26, and the road authority notes that it may be out of date. Times for 2026/27 are not confirmed, so check the road authority's traffic information before you set out. Start and end of the convoy season depend on the weather, and a full closure is possible.
| Direction | Departures, winter 2025/26 |
|---|---|
| From Skarsvågkrysset | 08:30, 10:00, 12:00, 14:30, 19:30 |
| Return | 09:30, 11:00, 13:45, 16:15, 21:30, plus 12:30 on Fridays |
If you are in a convoy: start with a full battery or a full tank, and bring warm clothes, food and a hot drink. Use your hazard lights, drive steadily, keep the car ahead in sight and do not leave the convoy or turn around. If you stop, stay near the vehicle. The plow service may turn back vehicles that are not properly equipped. A plowing station at Hønsa on the E69 was described in March 2026. It adds readiness and a place to wait in an emergency, but it is no promise of an open road. More on winter driving is on the road trip page.
Midnight sun and polar night
Sources disagree on the end of the midnight sun. Visit Norway gives 14 May to 29 July, and the hall's FAQ gives 14 May to 31 July. Neither date is an astronomical promise for your visit. The polar night is given as 21 November to 21 January on one page and as late November to late January on another, so do not apply one set of dates to every place around Honningsvåg.
If you arrive by sea, Havila's northbound call at Honningsvåg is scheduled from 10:55 to 14:30. That is a timetable value, not a promise that a trip to the cape fits. See the Hurtigruten page for the ports. Northern lights are possible in the dark season, but no one can guarantee them. Use the northern lights page to plan. For midnight sun at the city level, Tromsø has its own guide.
